In the automotive industry, water is used for washing, surface treatment, coating, rinsing, paint spray booths, hosing, cooling air conditioning systems, and boilers and all these processes produce large amounts of wastewater. There are strict regulations for automotive industry wastewater since it is highly polluted with fats, oil, grease, hydrocarbons, flammable liquids, suspended solids, coolant and radiator fluids, heavy metals, and organic and inorganic pollutants.
Automotive industry liquid wastes may cause serious damage to nature and human health. Taking into account the protection of water resources and, especially, compliance with current legislation and international standards, several technologies for wastewater treatment have been studied. In general, the physico-chemical treatment is well-established and is applied by most industries.
We as GLANCO RECOVER & RECYCLE, before treating wastewater from automotive factories, are focusing initially on the “Recovery of salts/metals” in wastewater. One example of this is the phosphate anions in wastewater. Through the specially developed technique of GLANCO, we are claiming to recover phosphate anions in wastewater by converting them into H3PO4 acid, which has a commercial value in the market. H3PO4 acid can be used in the production of fertilizers among many other industrial processes.
